All of us on the
Tour grieve the
passing of Bruce Lupton, a friend, a golf buddy, and very
special person, always giving of himself to the benefit of others. He
joined the Roanoke Valley Senior Golf Tour in 2007, and later
volunteered to serve on
the
Tour Committee where he
was appreciated for his great eye in picking up mistakes on
the
scoreboard, something we will miss. His "big win"
on Tour
was winning the Roanoke
Country Club tournament in 2014, pictured above. We on the
Tour,
and many other golfers around the valley, will miss Bruce's special
skills in organizing many golf trips and the many golf
tournaments supporting the Shriners' causes.
One of Bruce's latest projects was preparation for the 2016
James Stanley Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament,
benefitting the Masonic Home of Virginia. This tournament will be held
at Lexington Country Club on August 11th, 2016. It would be a
great tribute to Bruce to enter a team in his name. Click one
